Wyoming Church of Christ

We are Wyoming Church of Christ.

It’s great to have you visit, so let us introduce ourselves.

We’re a friendly and growing community of people from many backgrounds who have found fresh hope and forgiveness through Jesus Christ – and it’s all because of Jesus’ death and resurrection two thousand years ago.  This is truly life changing, so we’re committed to sharing this message with others.

Our Sunday meetings are contemporary with modern music and “come as you are casual dress”. As God reveals himself to us through the bible, we are committed to teaching it faithfully in easy to understand and relevant ways.

Whether you’re looking for answers for life, investigating the claims of Jesus Christ, or wanting to find a great church to call home, then check out the rest of our site and we look forward to meeting you soon.

What we believe.

Wyoming Church of Christ is a contemporary style evangelical church committed to teaching the life changing message of Jesus Christ from the Bible.

We are affiliated with Churches of Christ which began around 200 years ago and has existed in NSW for well over 125 years. The Bible is our sole guide for our faith and practise which is reflected in Churches of Christ Beliefs:

  • Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone

  • The Biblical authority of God’s word

  • Christian unity within the Kingdom of God

  • Biblical baptism by water immersion

  • The celebration of communion

  • The autonomy and empowerment of local churches to self govern

  • The mutual ministry and servanthood of all Christians

  • The mission of the Great Commission

Statement of Faith

In the divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given and that the Holy Spirit so moved the writers that what they wrote are authoritative statements of truth. The Scripture is therefore the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality; and who of His own sovereign will created the heavens, the earth and all that is contained within the Universe.

Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.

He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of all people by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.

He rose from the dead and ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own.

The salvation of mankind is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, and thereby justified them in His sight.

The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to all people. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. His fullness, power and control are appropriated in the believer’s life by faith.

Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all people, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth, personally, visibly and bodily, to Consummate history and the eternal plan of God.

In the actual existence of Satan who is the father of all evil and opposed to God although ultimately subject to the purposes of God and destined to be confined forever to Hell.

We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true Christians and desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, provided that any interpretation is based upon the Bible alone, and that no such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders the fellowship of members of the Church or the witness and ministry of the Church.
