Wyoming Church of Christ

Giving is a form of worship.

Giving is for our members and anyone who wants to be part of bringing the gospel message of Jesus to our local community and beyond.

The New Testament teaches us to give joyfully (2 Corinthians 9:7), generously (2 Corinthians 9:11) and regularly (1 Timothy 6:18) so that Christ can grow his Kingdom, and as an expression of thanks to God. While each person has different circumstances and different causes to support, giving to your local church is an important and crucial part of sustaining long-term impact in our community.

The general offering of our church community contributes roughly 83% of the cost of running the church, and is therefore essential in keeping our ministries running. The costs of running the church (2020/21 forecast values) is mainly comprised of paying our two pastors (77%), our ministries (3%), our mission partners (4%), church administration (9%) and property costs (7%). Our financial results are regularly shared and you can speak to the MST team for more information.

Financial giving is one way of contributing to church life, but there are also other important ways to give, such as your time and talents. Click here to listen to a recent sermon from Pastor Rob Jenner about how giving should look in a biblical church.

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
— 2 Corinthians 9:6–7
